Currently it does dd/mm/yyyy and the time is a 24-hour clock which i feel end users will not be compfortable with.  Can I change the format to mm/dd/yyyy and 12-hour clock with am/pm?

If this was critical you can modify this with javascript plugin that remote services can enable or deploy or design for you.

I don't believe there is a way to change it in the KBOX as far as format via the KBOX GUI.

Uservoice is your best bet at this point. That's something they'll probably do in the next major release due later this year.

You can change the format here:

Control Panel -> Date and Time -> Change date and time... -> Change Calendar settings -> Time tab
