Is there a free util to make transforms?
I am not a very experienced app packager. I have done some repackaging using the free AdminStudio SMS Edition. My company does not have any of the expensive software for creating MSIs.
I find myself in the position of needing to modify the default install for PictureIt v7.0 from Microsoft. All I want to do is select the options of desktop shortcut and full install. From what I have read so far, it seems that a transform file is on my future. Is there some way I can make a transform without any pricey applications?

OR.. use the trial version of Adminstudio. [:D]
A quick google search turned up a basic Orca guide:

Yea... after digging around with the trial of AdminStudio I found a helpfile that referenced Tuner. It took a bit but I figured it out. Everything seems to be working OK. I am concerned about what happens after the 30 day trial is up. I suspect Tuner is out the door.
I'll read the orca documentation too. Thanks again.

Hi ksmith247,
If you want to add dialog options during installation through a transform have a look at my "Monitor MSI installation actions in real time" comment at http://juice.altiris.com/article/1358/troubleshooting-wise-packages-with-windows-installer-log-files.
You can also make a copy of the MSI, modify it and then use msitran.exe from the SDK (Windows Installer 4.5 SDK) to generate a transform. This is also possible through example a vbscript.
