I am a beginner in packaging and I attended an interview... Below are the questions that i was not able to answer. Please give the answer for this...

1. Difference between single snapshot and multiple snapshot?
2. why patch cannot be packaged?
3. How to find that an installation is running in silent or admin and installing or uninstalling?
4. How did you capture the files which is going to other drive?
5. What is shadow component?
6. How can we install 2 application with same GUID and in same machine?
7. Difference between Adminstudio and install shield?
8. Back end machanism of windows installer?

Please give me some other question with answers for interview.

honestly, some of these questions sound abit far fetched (I don't want to use the word stupid) to me. To me the answer to these questions would in no way tell me if you're a good packager. I don't know if you remembered them incorrectly, or if they were literally asked this unclearly, but...

Others feel free to correct me, but these questions (especially 1,6 and 7) would make me scratch my head, wondering what the hell the answer they expect is (which of the many guids do they mean? Shadow Component, you want me to link to Citrix user settings? AdminStudio / Installshield I wouldn't know, and who cares?) and I dare call myself a pretty experienced packager...
I don't think they are relevant at all.

Guess what I'm trying to tell you is - I wouldn't waste time trying to answer these questions [:D]

May be 1 question is Single step snapshot and Multiple snapshot. If so, below is the answer
1. Single Steps is used when u capture an exe and you are sure that the exe inturn doesn't execute some other exe as a part.
Multiple Steps is used when an exe is inturn calling many exe's .
