Internal Error 2349

Hi everyone,

I'm repackaging an application. When i install the MSI, i get a Internal Error 2349 during the InstallFiles Action. When i remove the file which is causing the next file to create this error... I could not find any solutions on the web, so i thought maybe you guys could help me out.

Hi Willcee,

The program i'm trying to repackage is Autodesk Inventor 10. I know it's originaly a MSI, but the vendor MSI is real bad, so i decided to repackage it.

The following stuff comes from the logfile

MSI (s) (88:F4): Executing op: ChangeMedia(,MediaPrompt=Please insert the disk: [ProductName] ,MediaCabinet=Cabs.m3,BytesPerTick=32768,CopierType=2,ModuleFileName=C:\WINNT\Installer\3dd6f.msi,,,,,IsFirstPhysicalMedia=1)
InstallFiles: File: M178-1003.ipt
Directory: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 10\Samples\Models\Assemblies\Test Station\Components\Cut Length Parts\
Size: 1079808
MSI (s) (88:F4): Note: 1: 2349
DEBUG: Error 2349: Copy Resumed With Different Info
DEBUG: Error 2835: The control ErrorIcon was not found on dialog ErrorDialog
Internal Error 2835. ErrorIcon, ErrorDialog
Internal Error 2349.
MSI (s) (88:F4): Product: Autodesk Inventor Professional 10 -- Internal Error 2349.

Action ended 14:23:16: InstallFinalize. Return value 3.
MSI (s) (88:F4): Product: Autodesk Inventor Professional 10 -- Internal Error 2349.

It want's to copy the file M178-1003.ipt but it generates the Internal Error 2349. When i remove this file from the package it hangs with the same error on the next file in the file table. Personally i think the problem lies in the "Executing op: ChangeMedia(", but i can't find this action anywhere in the package.

I hope you can help me out here...

There is an error in the Event viewer saying: Product: Autodesk Inventor Professional 10 -- Internal Error 2349, but i already knew that from the error box that came up and the logfile i made. The MSI from Autodesk was realy horrible. I made a MST file for it, but i could not get it working. :(

Why repackage the MSI? Maybe you just need to contact the vendor for more information....

Why repackage it... Well i spent many weeks trying to get the vendor MSI to work with a MST. The vendor MSI has many (ICE) errors in them. I resolved almost half of them. Then i found out there were two servicepacks out for Inventor 10 and a lot of hotfixes. So we decided to repackage it, because we couldn't distribute any servicepacks along the main MSI. I have deleted the MSI, recompiled and went home, so tommorow morning we'll see if that solved the issue...

If anyone else has an idea on solving Internal Error 2349, please let me know, cause google didn't give me any solotion.
