Installing two different McAfee Frame pkg via MI


How can I install  McAfee frame pkg  via managed install, each frame pkg has different configuration and used for different regions?

  • i have zipped framepkg1.exe framepkg2.exe and framepkg3 .exe and added to software inventory of Mcafee Agent..

    in managed install im calling the framepkg1.exe
    as below

    Override Default Installation
    Full Command Line:

    FramePkg1.exe /FRAMEPKG /INSTALL=AGENT/SILENT

I am not familiar with McAfee frame packages but you will have to use custom inventory rules that will allow the K1000 to differentiate between the two installers. I'm assuming that there are either different files or registry keys that will distinguish between the two installations that you can use. Once you have your custom inventory rules created you can associate the managed installs with those instead of the original software title that was detected.

I was concerned there that you were trying to install multiple McAfees for a bit.

You will have to set up some logic in the managed install part of KACE. What separates your regions, is it geographical (countries or states) or different parts of buildings (IP Subnets)
