Installing NetClient driver via MSI

Hello,

I would like to install my driver (NetClient type) via MSI.
I am using InstallShield v11.

Should I use the "Device Driver Wizard" or this wizard is for device drivers (hardware) only?
What will be the right way to install my driver (DiffXapp ?) ?

Regards,

Yehuda

Hi There ,

It is better to use the Device Driver Wizard which will add the DiffxApp Merge Module automatically . This Happens in Wise template but not sure about the installshield Wizards .

Cheers ..

Hi,
Thank you for the information.

I used the Device Driver Wizard for adding my INF, SYS and CAT files.
Unfortunatly, I am getting error 1723 on MsiProcessDrivers (DifxApp action)...

What should I do to fix it?

1723 - Stands for this MSI error " A DLL required for this install to complete couldnt not be run " .

Just check the dll's and check for the custom actions , may be check if this link is useful..

Not Very Sure about this particular device driver error .

Hint : It is advisable not to use MSI for device drivers since it results in so many problems ...
Cheers..

I would use the Device Driver template it will work fine if the driver is signed (CAT)
Just make sure you have all required files for the driver.
