Install component during uninstallation

I am trying to install a component during uninstallation of the msi.

I have tried conditioning the component using REMOVE~="ALL" and also MaintenanceMode="Remove". But the component is not getting installed during uninstalltion. I am using wps 7.

Please let me know if i am missing anything.

Thanks.

I don't think this is possible. Think about it, you'll be installing a component on your machine that is not linked to any installed product, since you just uninstalled said product... I suppose you could conceivably try a nested MSI install during uninstall, but by now you probably know my feelings on nested installs...

well, reading that thread then, I guess I have to disagree with Ian's advise, for the reason stated above.
(yes I know I commented on the thread, doesn't mean I read it [:D])

You could probably run a Custom Action script during uninstall though to write the registry key for Active Setup.

Thanks PJ, I used a custom action to achieve it.
