IIS Install

From this site I found a page that talks about using SysOcMgr.exe to install or uninstall Windows components. I need to install IIS onto about 200 Windows 2000 w/s and need to use this tool but I can't get it to work.

This is what I have done as a test.

I installed IIS onto my Windows 2000 SP4 machine. Then, I ran this command.

Sysocmgr.exe /i:sysoc.inf /u:\IIS60Remove.txt /r /q

The file sysoc.inf is located in my %WIN%\INF folder
The file IIS60Remove.txt was created by cutting/pasting info from this web site and it contains this informaiton.

[Components]
aspnet = off
complusnetwork = off
dtcnetwork = off
bitsserverextensionsisapi = off
bitsserverextensionsmanager = off
iis_common = off
iis_ftp = off
fp_extensions = off
iis_inetmgr = off
iis_nntp = off
iis_smtp = off
iis_asp = off
iis_internetdataconnector = off
sakit_web = off
tswebclient = off
iis_serversideincludes = off
iis_webdav = off
iis_www = off
appsrv_console = off

When I run this command I get this error.

"" Windows 2000 Setup
The application cound not be initialized ""

I have tried a few different switches and nothing seems to work.

Has anyone used this tool with success and if so how did you get it to work?

Thank you.

I have done this before without issue. I used this doc as a reference.

Maybe run sysocgr without any arguements just to see if it launches ok.
