IBM Rational Application Developer silent problems

I am trying to do a silent install of IBM Rational Application Developer v6.0 and so far nothing worked. Maybe someone can help...

I have local install sources in subdirs disk1....disk4. A normal install (by just starting setup) works without problems. But when I call setup with the -silent switch nothing happens (almost). Setup runs a while, installs a temporary java, calls java and then they all quit without installation and the temp-files are removed. I can't find any log files either.
I have tried a silent setup with and without a response file (response file works non-silent).
I have tried different hardware with different os'es (Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP SP2 english and german) - no success.

Does anyone have an idea? Or at least a hint where to look? Log-files? Anything?

Thanks in advance

Paul K.

I packaged Rational Software Modeler 6.0 which seems to be a similar install to yours.
For mine to work I needed to use setup.exe -silent -options responsfile.txt

Here is an example of the responsfile.txt

# -P installLocation=<value>

# -P feature_lang_pack_rsm_win32.active=<value>

-P feature_examples_win32.active=True
