HP scanjet G3110 Driver

Hi,
I have this appln. When I do silent install it doesn't work. I saw when I install manually as admin and log back in as a user then applicaiton opens up and as soon I click on Scan it throws an error saying that " make sure that your wire is plugged in"
In this case I don't know what to do.. I was thinking to capture the whole appln...
Any advice....?

Thanks

When silent installs fails, it normally means that there is a Custom Action in the User Interface sequence which hasn't been copied into the Execute sequence. Because the UI sequence isn't run when installing silently, the CA doesn't get run.

I talked to the HP g guys and they said it won't work as a limited user unless I install the patch they gave it to me. and that works fine for me..
The only thing is . should I capture all including the patch or how???

Hi,
are we talking about the driver package (1.6 MB) or the the hole software all the HP crap inside (167MB ??!!) ?
The driver package is a done with dpinst and a plain setup stub, which can easily unpacked with tools like 7zip.
This should be installable from deployment solution, out of the box. If not, look up the dpinst docu at:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff544842%28VS.85%29.aspx

If you really need some apps from the full package, unpack it with 7zip and just install the needed SW. All those SW comes as separate MSI packages.

Ok, which apps from the hole package do your customers really need?
Extract them, and install them one by one with your deployment solution.
And use the drivers only package for the drivers.
Good luck.
