dunno that specifically, though I've seen others that did have (poorly documented) silent switches when you extract them out. Best bet with an exe installation is to put it in the binary table of an MSI and do a ca with that condition, "NOT Installed"

  • difx is a merge module you can use to install drivers in MSI.. http://apppackager.blogspot.dk/2011/07/create-msi-driver-package-with-wise.html - pzymex 10 years ago

i read on another page that i could use Difx((Driver Installation frame work) to deploy drivers. Has anyone ever used this program before or give me some pointers on how to use it?

Does the HP web site not have any info? What about their forum?

I looked at DifX at another client and decided it was too much trouble for printer installs. It was much easier to do an admin install, find the INF and then use the PRNxxx.VBSs, in particular PRNCNFG.VBS, which are provided with XP.

you can use rundll to load printer drivers relatively easily.

there is a wealth of information about how to use rundll32.exe on this site.
