how to silently removing BDE Database Aliases
Hello,
I'm currently facing the problem that I want to silently remove a database alias from
BDE during installation of my package. I know that you can use bdemerge.ini to silently
add database aliases to BDE but is there also a way to silently remove database aliases
from BDE? I hope someone can help me.
Greetings,
Timovs

I found a tool which can do the trick. It is for as far as I know a freeware tool.
You can download the tool at the following url (at the bottom of the page):
[link]http://mess.hu/?page=sw_free&lang=eng[/link]
Here is a short description of the tool copied from the creators website:
AliasCreator
This is a command line utility. (Win32 console mode application.) It can be used to manage BDE alias names. This is what it knows:
List parameters, aliases and driver names
Delete alias
Create alias
Recreate alias
Support for exit codes
If you want to know how to use it, please download and type this in the command line:
AliasCreator.exe --help
I hope this helps someone in the future, who has to work with BDE in a package.
