How to keep K1000 asset history for reassigned inventory (pc) ?

What we have done is to reimage our pc to reassign to another person. By doing that, we lost the history of the pc as the agent is removed. I wonder if there is a way to keep track of the history ?

There isn't a built in way at this time. Something similar has been suggested as an enhancement here: http://kace.uservoice.com/forums/82699-k1000/suggestions/1807341-retire-computers
Currently, your work-around would probably be one of a couple of things:
1. Name your machines something user agnostic so the name stays with the machine regardless of user. In Windows, you could set set the username as the machine's description.
2. Go to the computer inventory page, switch to printer friendly view and save as a .pdf to a network share. You can then go back and review history.
You can change the asset type for computers to match on the serial number and when it is re-imaged and gets a new agent it should create the asset and the history should come back.
