How to force a computer to install software from a replication share

I hope someone can help me out. We have just created replication shares in our offices in the UK and India and would like the local clients to install their software from the local replication shares.

I have the replication share in the UK setup as follows:

The user K1000Dep has the correct permissions - I have tested access from a client.

The label is setup as follows:

The problem I'm having is that when I try to distribute software to UK01-3PR6TY1 it is still downloading from our main K1000 server in the US rather than the UK replication share.

  • there is nothing to force. If a machine has the UK01_Office label it will go to the UK01KAC1 machine to get the updates based on how you have set it up. You might want to change the destination path to be local instead of UNC. I found that it works better.

The download path can remain UNC

You also want to make sure everything has replicated over as you don't have it failing over to the KBOX in the event something hasn't fully replicated. - nshah 10 years ago

It looks like you do not have a label assigned to point to the systems you wish the replication share to access.

Label: You must specify a label that will utilize the Replication Share.  This should likely be a label that encompasses all of the machines at the location or region where the replication share is being enabled.

Please respond if it helps.
