How do we expand existing off board storage?

We want to expand our existing off board storage (1 TB to 1.5 TB) on our virtual K2100.  We expanded the existing volume in vcenter and rebooted the K2, but it does not see the space increase.  Is there anything special we need to do to make the K2 see the change?

The appliance is not able to do 'on the fly' adjustments for the hard disk size, the process would be to reduce/shrink the storage items (can export them to reduce the size and be able to import them back) and once it reaches a size that the system can be switched back to the internal size of storage. Then create the new disk at the desired size, switch back to off-board storage and import remaining pkg/xml files.

Since this is a virtual appliance, hopefully running at version 4.0.695 the best course of action would be create a new appliance with the OVF or Hyper V file, select thin provision for the system files and then create a second disk thick provisioned of what ever size desired. The process is to import the OVF file choosing thin for the import, once imported edit settings to create second disk thick provisioned for data storage. Choose a second IP address so both systems can be on the network at the same time.

Then start the appliance and choose off-board storage (should pick it on its own if it sees the other disk). Once completed then its just a matter of exporting from the older system, copy files to /restore on new system and import those. When completed swap the IP addresses.
