i've got this application that when run the the setup.exe, it will download a wrapped msi file after installation. Am trying to customise it to work both on XP and 2000. Works with XP but not on 2000. Any suggestion will be needed.

First of all install the application on 2000 and verify that it's possible to use the application in that environment, even read through the requirements for the application or even call the vendor to verify this.
If it's not possible then don't even try to run it for that environment, the vendor will often not support the papplication in such scenario.
