FileFormatConverter.exe

I download the file from Microsoft site is call FileFormatConverter.exe, this file is for 2007Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats, how can I create a package with quite mode.

When I use run command on FileFormatConverter.exe /? it did not give me any switch.

Need help

it should. MS says:


  • Microsoft Word 2000 with Service Pack 3, Microsoft Excel 2000 with Service Pack 3, and Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 with Service Pack 3
  • Microsoft Word 2002 with Service Pack 3, Microsoft Excel 2002 with Service Pack 3, and Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 with Service Pack 3
  • Microsoft Office Word 2003 with at least Service Pack 1, Microsoft Office Excel 2003 with at least Service Pack 1, and Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 with at least Service Pack 1
  • Microsoft Office Word Viewer 2003
  • Microsoft Office Excel Viewer 2003
  • Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer 2003

    If you run the exe, it should give you an MSI (O12Conv.msi i think) and a cab file. go fishing in your %temp%... from there, msiexec.exe /qn should do the trick.

    Correction: In my case it put the files in: C:\Program Files\MSECache\O2007Cnv\1033

    This is not MSI package, it's exe file, so when I do like you told me

    msiexec.exe /i fileformatconverters.exe /qn

    it give me error like this
    This installation package could not be opened, Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows installer package.

    Run the exe, it will come up with the EULA, accept that, then look in the flder above for the MSI. It is a self extracting EXE...

    I works now, I use this command as following:

    msiexec.exe /i O12Conv.msi /qn

    one more question? is this will work on people have officeXp and office 2000 as well?
