External vendor cab / Attachmate EXTRA! 9.2 issues

I'm attempting to run a transform on the vendor MSI for Attachmate EXTRA! X-treme 9.2. Right now the install consists of an executable which extracts a CAB and an MSI. When I run the MSI with the CAB, during the install, it tells me that it cannot find xxx file, and I have the option to Abort, Retry or Ignore. It seems to do this with every file. If I try to compile the files into the transform or point the transform to the existing CAB, I keep getting erros telling me that the file could not be compressed, but I can in no way set the WiseSourcePath. It won't let me add/change anything in there.

I've logged the install and it's searching for the file in the same directory as the MSI. When it bombs I'm getting two errors, one of which I'm sure is unrelated, but...

DEBUG: error 2835: The control ErrorIcon was not found on dialog SetupError
Internal Error 2835L ErrorIcon, SetupError
MSI (s) (64:A8) [10:06:55:298]: Product Attachmate EXTRA! X-treme 9.2 -- error 1308. Source file not found: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\APPCVWIN.dll. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

For some reason it keeps wanting to pull these files from SOURCEDIR

I know I'm missing something stupid, but I just can't figure out what it is. For giggles I've tried recompiling the MSI and a bunch of other stuff but I'm stuck and hoping that someone else here has an idea of what I can do.

Thanks in advance!

WB

Firstly, you can ignore 2835 errors.

Secondly, do you get this error when running the MSI on its own as opposed to running the MSI/MST combination?

It produces the same result whether I run the transform or just the base MSI alone.

If you have only compressed files (external cabinet?) try following steps:
0) Backup your msi
1) Remove "#" prefix for each EXTERNAL Cabinet in Media table
2) Set "Compressed by default" flag in Summary Information Stream
OR
Set 16384 attribute for each file entry in File table

There is no CAB file listed in the media table. If I walk through the vendor install, the executable upacks the CAB file to a temp location (C:\~Attachmate) and then runs the MSI.

The only thing listed in the media table is as follows:

DiskID Last Sequence DiskPrompt Cabinent VolumeLabel Source
1 3607 Please insert the next [Product Name] disk XTR_MS92
