Error 2602 File has no associated entry in Media Table

I captured an installshield setup.exe into an msi using wise setupcapture. When I try to run this msi, I get the following error:

Error 2602: The File table entry 'enterprisesec.config.cch2' has no associated entry in the Media table.
MSI (s) (54:8C) [12:03:15:994]: Product: TotaleReceipts -- Internal Error 2602. File, enterprisesec.config.cch2

I checked the Media table and it is empty. I checked the wise source path for the file and it is correct. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this problem? I don't know if I need to populate the Media table with anything (and how to do this?) or what else to try. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi kristen,

Just add the file again ,then compile it and check.

And if you have the quick compile option turned on then turn it off before compiling.

Thanks both for your replies. It's still not working. I'm using setupcapture to take the before/after snapshots (which results in mo media table entry). When I tried to use Wise Package Studio, the media table is populated with an entry so it seems there's something that setupcapture is not capturing.
This is an installshield app so I might just go with the setup.iss answer file instead of trying to repackage already.

Are you saying that you're using another setup capture tool as WPS contains one to capture installations.

The Media table will be populated in the compiled MSI, it will not exist in the project file (.WSI).

I'm using the WiseCaptureSetup (standalone) tool that comes with DS. Basically this does snapshot only (no smart monitor, etc.) When I capture with WPS (I am using an evaluation copy as we are deciding whether or not to purchase) then the media table is populated (in the MSI).

Never used the DS version, but what I know is that it is a very stripped down version.

Delete file from the MSI compile MSI and close it (yes close it)
Open MSI and add file again and compile (ensure you are compressing files)

I encountered this issue after creating an MFT which introduced additional files (by putting the files into their respective directory structures beside the MSI), and forgetting to include the additional files count by incrementing the 'LastSequence' value of the Data1.cab record in the Media table.
