Enable RPC over HTTP

Hi,

I want to enable RPC over HTTP in outlook 2003 configuration. I have already created the CMW file using ORK tool , which will serve the purpose. However while executing the CMW file, only the settings for the current outlook profile are updated. I would like to know how this would be reflected for all the profiles.

It would be great if anyone can help me out in this.

Thank You in advance.

Shalini.

Instead of the CMW, use the CIW (Custom Installation Wizard). That's where you do it.
It will deploy as part of the transform.

Thank You for the response.

This being an update to the already configured outlook, I believe we need to use CMW. if it had been a fresh installation of Office, we could use CIW.

Using CMW I was able to update the settings, however as i mentioned earlier it is updating only for the default profile and not all profiles in that outlook instance.

It would be great if you can suggest some method wherein it would be updated for all profiles.

Thank you

How about this:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/help/HA011402831033.aspx

Maintwiz.exe /c UpdateOutlook.cmw /q

The /c option specifies the maintenance file to be applied to users' computers. The /q option prevents dialogs from being presented to the users during the update.

You need to find out yourself if the changes has been made using that CMW for the other users of that machine. YOu can actually used an Active Setup and put your CMW commands to populate the same to your other users if you find it missing.

Can probably do via GPO after the fact... The reg setting is mentioned here:

I have already used the above mentioned method of CMW . And it is reflecting for another user as well. My concern is when u have more than one profile in a single outlook instance, CMW file is updating only the default profile, not all profiles.

Any idea on this????

Not sure if it natively supports that. I'd open an MS support ticket.

There's some info here:
http://www.tech-archive.net/Archive/Outlook/microsoft.public.outlook.installation/2006-01/msg00293.html
and here:

that may help you make a script.
