Double Trouble with 2 install directories

Gidday Everyone,

I have a transform for a vendor msi, this works fine. However; there is now a requirement to install some additional custom files onto the D:\ drive for the same app version[8D]. Can I perform this within the same transform. The default directory is Program Files.

I would prefer not to nest msi's as this is an installshield installation; which could get messy.

Any advice greatly appreciated,

Thanks in advance,

Wayne

Gidday,

I've found a resolution for this. I created a Property called INSTALLDIR1 with value of D:\. Then in the Directory table created a new Row called INSTALLDIR1 with nothing in Directory_Parent column and DefaultDir column having the value of INSTALLDIR1 (note: without the property brackets [Property]). Then I referenced my subdirectories from this Directory.

I thought that to reference the Property in the Directory table it had to have the [] around the property as the 'Using the Directory Table' WI SDK refers to. But this didn't work for me.

Actually after the InstallValidate action directories and properties are the same that is, any directory in the Directory table will be a property. So your INSTALLDIR1 property value will override the Directory resolution value

Thanks AngelD,

I appreciate you clarifying that for me (I was hoping someone would[;)])

Cheers and Thanks,
Wayne
