DomainOU.xml & MDT 2010

I have been on Microsoft's site doing research on MDT 2010. I have read in many threads that people out there haved used a file called DomainOU.xml in conjuction with MDT 2010. Other techs have said this file is in the Control folder on your MDT Share. I have no such file. I have even searched the entire MDT Share and this file does not exist. At least 1 other tech out there said the same thing, that this file does not exist.

1. Does anyone have a copy of this file they can post here?
2. In MDT 2010 do you need to do something in paticular to create this file?

(note: DomainOU.xml is supposed to allow the LiteTouch deployment to prompt the tech to choose a OU to place the machine they are building)

Thanks for any help.

I Googled 'DomainOU.XML -appdeploy'. The 3rd hit mentioned a wizard. Curious - thinking that the wizard might create the XML file - I went to the page mentioned. At the foot is a link to a ZIP. That ZIP contains a text version of the file.

Okay, no matter what I try I can't not get my LT deployment to prompt me for the Active Direcotry OU. I read you can do all of this in your CustomSettings.ini file. So I am trying that method. Here is my CustomSettings.ini file

[Settings]
Priority=Default

[Default]
OSInstall=Y
DomainOUs1=OU=SF,OU=COMPUTERS,OU=BURKE,DC=TTT,DC=LOCAL
DomainOUs2=OU=PA,OU=COMPUTERS,OU=BURKE,DC=TTT,DC=LOCAL
DomainOUs3=OU=WC,OU=COMPUTERS,OU=BURKE,DC=TTT,DC=LOCAL
DomainOUs4=OU=SD,OU=COMPUTERS,OU=BURKE,DC=TTT,DC=LOCAL
DomainOUs5=OU=SE,OU=COMPUTERS,OU=BURKE,DC=TTT,DC=LOCAL
DomainOUs6=OU=DE,OU=COMPUTERS,OU=BURKE,DC=TTT,DC=LOCAL
DomainOUs7=OU=DC,OU=COMPUTERS,OU=BURKE,DC=TTT,DC=LOCAL
MachineObjectOU=
SkipAdminPassword=YES
AdminPassword=password
SkipApplications=YES
SkipAppsOnUpgrade=YES
SkipBDDWelcome=YES
SkipBitLocker=YES
SkipCapture=YES
SkipComputerName=NO
SkipComputerBackup=YES
SkipDeploymentType=YES
DeploymentType=NEWCOMPUTER
SkipDomainMembership=YES
JoinDomain=TTT
DomainAdmin=Administrator
DomainAdminDomain=TTT
DomainAdminPassword=password
SkipFinalSummary=YES
SkipLocaleSelection=YES
SkipPackageDisplay=YES
SkipProductKey=YES
SkipSummary=YES
SkipTaskSequence=NO
SkipTimeZone=YES
SkipUserData=Yes
FinishAction=Restart

I bootk up off of a USB drive and the LT deployment runs. It prompts me for the machine name and that's it. It never askes me for the AD OU to add the machine too. It will finish the install and there are no errors in the netsetup.log file. It does join the domain too......but it puts the machine in the general Computers OU.

So I am missing something but not sure what it is.

You can use DomainOU.xml file OR customsettings.ini to list available OU's. Not both.

Also you have to set in customsettings.ini:
SkipDomainMembership=NO

You are skipping the option to select the OU you want the computer placed in with the following line

SkipDomainMembership=YES

Change this to

SkipDomainMembership=NO

and you will be given the option to select the OU you want the Computer created in
