Distributing images via USB

So now that I have a working standalone USB image from the KACE, I'd like to be able to make an IMG or ISO of the working USB drive.  I need something that will allow the remote user to burn this image to a USB drive and then use the drive to boot up the image.  Think "stupidly simple".  It seems I've tried a number of utilities. Making an image of the USB drive doesn't seem to be a problem but using that image to create a bootable USB has been quite the task.  Any recommendations?

  • Thanks. Yeah that's one of the ones that I've tried. It does makes the image fine but when you go to burn that image to another USB drive (the exact same model and size) it says there is not enough space on the drive. - kenrinc 8 years ago

Try this tool - http://usb-image-tool.en.uptodown.com/windows

You can make a backup copy of USB drives with it and write to an ISO or back to another drive.  Another option is to backup your USB drive to the image and then use Rufus to restore it to a bootable USB - https://rufus.akeo.ie/
