Distribute silent with kace1000

Most software producert supply us with the option to make a deployment instead of a wizzard. I know that it is possible to distribute silent and without a forced shutdown with k1000. But do not know how to setup this kind of distribution yet. Can anyone describe shortly how it is done?

It depends entirely on what you are trying to deploy. Some applications simply do not allow for completely silent installations, but most do.

Usually, for MSI files, the switch /QN will create a silent install (so your install command would look like this: msiexec /I /QN yourinstallername.msi). For many exe installs, a /q, /S or /s will allow for silent install. It's all quite variable and depends on how the application was packaged in the first place.

Here's a nice guide I've had bookmarked that goes over some of the popular switches for the various installer types: http://unattended.sourceforge.net/installers.php
