Deploying Adobe Reader 8
Hi all, I've posted what I've found so far with a silent install of Adobe Reader 8 here: http://www.stealthpuppy.com/blogs/travelling/archive/2006/12/07/deploying-adobe-reader-8.aspx. Does anyone else have anything that they could add, especially around registry entries to remove features? I don't seem to be able to get the feature lockdowns from Adobe Reader 7 to work in 8.
TIA, Aaron

the following gets rid of the EULA but I'm also looking to remove the Beyond Adobe Reader Screen and disable the auto updater. Anyone found these fixes yet?
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\8.0\AdobeViewer]
"EULA"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\8.0\AdobeViewer]
"EULA"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\8.0\AdobeViewer]
"EULA"=dword:00000001

I was able to use the infomation from this link [link=http://itninja.com/link/using-express-software-manager-in-an-sms-environment:-technical-note-10195] and ORCA to modify my MSI file.
But I am prompted for the installation directory when I use my updated MSI.
Has anyone run into this problem.
Thanks in advance

The new Adobe Customization Wizard supports most of the options discussed in this thread. For example, on the Toolbars and Document Status stab, find the checkbox to "Disable Adobe Online Services".
There's only one thing I want that the Wizard doesn't do: On the Installation Options tabs is a checkbox labeled "Remove previous version of Reader", but it's grayed out. How do I activate this checkbox? Failing that, how do I remove previous versions of Reader, preferably using only this Wizard?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I lied: There's one more change I want that the Wizard does not offer: I want to disable the automatic spell-checking.
It looks like these registry entries will do it:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\8.0\PICommonPrefs\
bSpellingUnderline=dword:0
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\8.0\PICommonPrefs\cPICommonPrefs
bSpellingUnderline=dword:0
Now I just need to do it for all users. Are there other user-specific settings people like to change? If so, what's the best approach?
