Deploy .wim images in MDT 2008

Hi,

I have been sent standardised .wim images for XP SP2 from the HQ. I have built a MDT 2008 but cannot find a script to just push out images. These images already have been sealed using sysprep.

Can someone point me to a deploy only sequence steps? I thought there would be some sequences as there is one to capture but nothing to deploy the already captured ones.

TIA
Melz

Hi,

I have made some progress with the Standard Client Task Sequence but when I create a DVD media, it is not using the values in sysprep.inf for the serial #. It is asking me this at the start as "Specify the product key needed to install this operating system".

How can I disabled this prompt and stop it from overwriting my sysprep.inf ?

TIA

Hi Melissa,

What I did was create a folder called sysprep and in there I dumped the I386 folder and the sysprep.inf file and resealed the ref compute, after it restarts boot into the network card and capture it.

Hi,

Capturing is not an issue. I used something like this

imagex /capture /compress maximum c:\xpsp3 z:\xpsp3.wim "XPsp3". Works Ok for me.

I want a deploy only script. Just partition, format, deposit the image and delete all the _SMSTS/scripts and related things. The way I am used to do it in Ghost et al.

BTW there is a capture only script on web. It is by Johan Arwidmark.
