I am getting a 2705 error when i try to deploy pohtoshop cs2.
msiexec.exe /i "\\server\app\Photoshp-CS2-ALGALG-NL\3_Snapshot\Photoshp-CS2-ALGALG-NL-001\PHOTOSHP-CS2-ALGALG-NL-001.msi" transforms="\\server\app\Photoshp-CS2-ALGALG-NL\3_Snapshot\Photoshp-CS2-ALGALG-NL-001\PHOTOSHP-CS2-ALGALG-NL-001.mst"

I made he MST file with installshield, without changing any thing, but it will not continue.
I only install photoshop without bridge, helper , ect.

No, Haven't done that.

I'll have a look now and post up the results.

Something I've noticed is that the transform returns the error when I change the shortcut locations. I am using InstallShield for this.

I'll load up Wise now and see if that causes the same problem.

Regarding the ICE errors, there were heaps of them when I ran a validation on the original Adobe MSI file as well as the MST I created. Looks like the original MSI file may not have follwed standards very well.

OK, got this app ready at last!!

Using the vendor MSI (which is full of errors when a validation is run) and an MST file which includes the reg keys for turning off updates etc.

Once I used the abcpy.ini file instead of the MST to store the licence key it worked fine.

Also, when installing as a locked down user, deleted the Adminuser requirement in the MST and it installed. Hopefully this doesn't lead to any dramas further down the track in the production environment.

I too was able to get it to finally install without errors. However when I deployed it to a computer Photoshop started and wanted it to Activate to continue.
How do you get rid of the Activation Required message. We currently have four licenses but I guess you need to activate each one individually. Any suggestions?
thanks,

John

Hi,

Order a Volume License Key and a new cd that supports the Volume License Key.

If you look in the Windows Installer SDK, error 2705 means "Invalid table: [2]; Could not be linked as tree.". In your error message, you should find the table name, like "2705: 1: <something> 2: <table name with errors>"

If you post the complete error message, someone might have heard of it.

Hi,
I noticed that you use transforms in lower case it should be in capital letters: TRANSFORMS=

Hi,

Thanx but even transforms in capitals will give me the same error.

When i start the PHOTOSHP-CS2-ALGALG-NL-001.msi ( this is the normal adobe msi but with a different name) without mst it works fine.

I am getting this exact error message with Photoshop.

If I run it from the command promt or through a NAL object, same thing, so has to be my MST.

Any tips on getting around it?? It has me up the walls!!!!

Have you run a validation on the package? If so, what ICE errors did you get?
