Dell Command Configure Executable Run From K1000

Dear all,

But of a KACE newbie here so apologies for the daft question but I have created some BIOS changes using Dell Command Configure so now I have my executable and the SH file that goes with it.

But what is the best way to get this deployed from the K1000?

Thanks in advanced

Simon

One method is to create a script, upload the executable and the SH file and then have the script run the executable.

Thanks for that method, I have tried adding both the executable and SH file as dependencies and then running the exe but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Is there a certain way of uploading both the exe and sh files?

Thanks

  • Are you specifying the full command using the $(KACE_DEPENDENCY_DIR) variable? - chucksteel 8 years ago
    • I'm using $(KACE_DEPENDENCY_DIR) in the directory box and the command configure executable I have exported in the File field box
then for the parameters entry I was using:

      -i multiplatform_xp_bios_201107251116.ini

(or the name of my ini which is wolenable.ini - si1974 8 years ago

  • I see that you're uploading a zip file. Scripts don't automatically unzip dependencies so you need to either upload the dependencies individually or have the script unzip the file. I normally upload the individual files. - chucksteel 8 years ago
    • Okay that makes sense, thank you. Sorry daft question but where do you upload individual files and should my script be a Online KScript? - si1974 8 years ago
      • Just keep clicking the New Dependency button and it will allow you to upload multiple files. The difference between and online and offline script is that online scripts will only run if the client is connected to the KBox when the script is schedule to run. Offline scripts will still run even if the client isn't connected to the server. - chucksteel 8 years ago
