Everytime I run an inventory for machines to check for dell updates it returns an error

I also, have no client dell updates available-even though I have run the catalog 10 times for dell client and server updates

  • just got off the phone with tech support and discovered this sql error/database

[Wed Dec 12 12:07:02 CST 2012] [notice] KDellUpdater - Exception:mysql error: [1054: Unknown column SIZE in field list] in EXECUTE("UPDATE KBSYS.DELL_PKG SET UPDATED=2012-09-26T06:10:22Z,DELL_VERSION=A42,HASH_MD5=13ca84b1f4ac0eee5c2fe884a0fbbdc4,RELEASE_DATE=2012-09-26,RELEASE_DID=2CJR3,SCHEMA_VERSION=1.1,SIZE=9194232,VENDOR_VERSION=7.0.39.1,PACKAGE_TYPE=WIN,COMPONENT_DESC=Inventory,COMPONENT_TYPE=Inventory,DESCRIPTION= Inventory Collection Tool,NAME= Inventory Collection Tool,CATALOG_RELEASE_DID=NXC9G_1811,ORIGIN_FULLPATH=FOLDER00891544M/1/InvColPC_7.0.39.1.exe,RESOURCE_PATH=FOLDER00891544M/1/,RESOURCE_FILENAME=InvColPC_7.0.39.1.exe,INSTALL_SEQ=0 WHERE DELL_CATALOG_ID=2 and PACKAGE_DID=2CJR3")
    • You should keep working with technical support on this and escalate this further if required. There was a known issue in release 5.3 with Dell Updates and I can see that you Inventory Collector from Dell is not coming down. Without this Dell Updates will not work on any box.

It's trying to pass size in the SQL query which isn't a column in that table so you get an error. This should be passed to an engineer to look into. Probably needs updating Ina definition file.
