Deep Links to Assets or Inventory Items

In various system descriptions we would link to the related K1000 inventory item or better to the K1000 asset item via Deep Links. This is only possible if you have the database id like

http://kbox1000/adminui/machine.php?ID=575

The only way is to use the URL for a search.

http://kbox1000/adminui/computer_inventory.php?LABEL_ID=&SEARCH_SELECTION_TEXT=[SEARCHSTRING]&SEARCH_SELECTION=[SEARCHSTRING]

But is there another possibility for using a deep link to an item?

  • Are you only trying to link to machines? Also, where are you linking from? Do you want to include the link in an email from the service desk or have the links in another system? - chucksteel 10 years ago
  • Yes, trying to link to machines or assets. We´ll link from the service description which is in out Confluence or from our JIRA Ticket system, or maybe in an email. - aragorn.2003 10 years ago
  • If your external system can perform a SQL query to generate the link then you can use the reporting user to access the database remotely and find the machine or asset ID. - chucksteel 10 years ago
