Deep Freeze partition

I'm creating a scripted install using the K2000. I have systems that will have a deep freeze policy applied. I'm wondering if I need a partition for this or can I just have one partition?

  • You don't need an extra partition just to freeze the machines, are you talking about a thaw space? That would be controlled by the installer that you run after the image gets applied, so you shouldn't need one for that. We have found it better to save images with the seed installed rather than the full workstation piece. - nheyne 10 years ago

I agree with nheyne, put the seed into your images.  We use the Faronics console after the machines post to install DeepFreeze and Faronic's AV.  We ran into problems imaging with deepfreeze since it writes the thaw space to sectors vs the file system.

You can even push DF with the k1000 after.

  • Agreed. Push DeepFreeze after image deployment. - mpace 10 years ago
