DCOM Error 10000
I created a msi package for SAS application. The problem is sas is failing to launch when user double clicks on the .sas file. However is sas is open and user double clicks on the .sas file the it open in sas and everything is fine. The system even log generates an error: Unable to start a DCOM Server: {C3B368D4-C09D-49D8-A7A6-12FACEFA6F38}. The error: ""C:\Program Files\SAS\SAS 9.1\SASV9.CFG" -Embedding is not a valid Win32 application. " Happened while starting this command: "C:\Program Files\SAS\SAS 9.1\SASV9.CFG" –Embedding Cfg is a config file for sas and its same as on the system with installation from sas cd’s. Thanks for any help.

Hey I am really not sure with the problem that you facing. I have never faced a problem of this sort but I would recommend you to register each registrable file in the INSTALLDIR and then moving to the ones in the other application directories. I think you start with the .dlls. The reason I have come up with this idea is because I suspect improper registration of one or more on the files.
You can start registering each file and then try double clicking of the extension. And I am sure you can narrow your search for the registrable file by deriving clue from the logs or something from the advertising tables.
I again state that it just a weird solution to a peculiar problem and I may be wrong [:(]. Pardon me if I am wrong (just trying to help)
