Custom Shortcut Icon Deployment

Hi folks, I have created a custom icon for a URL shorcut which has to be deployed to a lot of machines. Problem is when I create the icon on one machine copy the shortcut up to the server for deployment to the rest of the machines, I then lose the icon.

I thought this was maybe because the image file was stored locally for the custom icon. So I then placed the image file on a server which the users had access to and linked the file location to the icon onto the deployment location. (users obviously dont have access to the deployment server) The shortcut is being deployed however the custom icon is not, it is just a blank icon. Any suggestions folks would be most welcome.

Thanks

The old crystal ball doesn't quite give the results these days so we shall have to ask: How is the shortcut being deployed? MSI/Group Policy? MSI/SCCM or SMS? Script? Radia?

I'm using Altiris console using a software delivery package which uses a batch file to deploy the scripts. So depending on what type of user it is they get different shortcuts. Sorry if any of this is unclear im learning as I go here.

Thanks

Never worry. I think its sorted now. I think it just took a while for icon to appear on the workstations.

Thanks anyway :)
