Custom Fields for Computer Inventory

Hi, I was wondering how I would go about setting up a custom field that I could input text into for a computer listed in my inventory. I know I could use Notes, but I would prefer having it show a custom field name. As far as I can tell from reading the Admin guide, this is different than the already provided Custom Inventory Rules as I won't be pulling the data from the individual computer, rather it's an company asset tag that I want to assign to a particular computer.

Every computer can map to a computer asset. I recommend mapping on bios serial number. You can add as many fields as you want to the computer asset type. The fields are visible from the inventory record

Looks like I figured it out. I guess the little + button somehow escaped me when I was looking at the Asset types.

Could you use a label? Or an asset field?

I probably could. Labels though seem like they wouldn't be the best solution since every computer would have a unique asset number, but how do I set up an asset field? I've tried figuring this out on my own, but nothing shows up in the AdminGuide.pdf for "asset field" or in my quick browsing of the Knowledge Base on kace.com
