Custom Action for existing Folder

Hi

I have a custom action that sets the permissions for a folder. But i need it to run if the folder exists. What is the syntax in Installshield 2009 to make sure the folder exists before running the ca?

thx

you can use system search to search for the folder if it exists then execute your CA

To explain more fully, a search would be used to populate a property which you would then use as a condition for the CA. So, created a property called, say, FOLDER_PRESENT and set it to 0. Then set up your search to populate FOLDER_PRESENT. You then condition the CA as 'FOLDER_PRESENT<>0'.

As an intro to AppSearch, this may be helpful:

Hi and thanks VBscab, for the fast response. After i posted i figured out how to make it work. Basically the same thing you described, but instead of using the folder name i check for the Feature, because the folder is only installed if my feature is selected for installation. It works like a charm.

thx
