Create deployment job before a DELL machine is delivered
Hi, we seem to think that its possible to set up a job in KACE to image a machine, before the machine arrives from the DELL factory.
The problem is that KACE will only allow us to set up a job based on the MAC address, which is NOT supplied by DELL on the invoice. . . . . or (based upon what we have seen) anywhere on our DELL page online.
So, are we mistaken? Or is there a way that we can set up a job based on (perhaps) SERVICE TAG to accomplish this?

The inventory you are seeing is based on your K1000, or on what machines have PXE booted to the K2000. I'm pretty sure you can send Dell your image (for a charge), and have them imaged prior to delivery.

As you suspect, you would have to obtain the MAC addresses from Dell. To my knowledge, there isn't a simple way to set up a job prior to obtaining the machine without the MAC address.
You may be able to get custom work done to create a default such that any machine connected to the KACE immediately deploys an image, perhaps even selecting an appropriate image based on information gathered from an initial machine inventory, but that would require paying for custom tasks with KACE services.
We use Dell Factory Integration (CFI) service. You could try to contact them I am not sure if they do Kace as we use SCCM.
