Copy file to user profile
Hi Everyone ,
I am facing the typica issue that packagers face.. ihave to get one file copied to profile of every user that is under C:\documents and settings\<username>\Application data. I have read many posts here but i am unable to get sucess. I am confused where to add the file in the File Section in Installation Expert ( Using Wise 5.0 ). Should i add the file under Windows\Profiles\Application Data .. I have tried it in this way ..but its only coping to the user from which i am installing.. if i go to other user and do a repair of msi .. the file doesn`t come in that user profile.. Please help me..

sorry I misread that.
put it under windows\profiles as you did.
this is dynamically resolved based on the target platform.
what you a missing is that you need to goto the component which contains the files you have destined for this location and create a dummy HKCU entry and set that item as the keypath to the component.
i would suggest something like
HKCU\Software\Pacakges\[ProductName]\ValidationFix_ComponentName = installed
This way all of these dummy keys will show up in the same place for all packages. Just adds a little structure.
