Copy file from SOurce
Hi Team,
Need your urgent help and assistance.
I am working on the application "NICE Perform"
The client requires that i execute a single exe "SetSecurityApp.exe" that is said to adjust .Net security changes (lets put that aside for a while)
Its clearly instructed that the exe should not be captured.
Additionally, the client requires that I install a codec software which is already in an MSI format.
Based on the above two requirement, this is what i decided to do.
1. Do a silent call to the exe, from within the codec msi, before it installs its own codec files and registry
2. Using custom action, I want to copy the file from source (where the msi resides) and execute it
(please note that i dont want to inclue the file within the package - ie file table or binary table)
PLease suugest ...
1. if there is a msi action that can copy a file from Source Dir to local machine
2. Where should the custom action be placed. ( i intend to have it right before install initialize)
Awaiting your valuable suggestion.
And will appreciate a speedy assisnance as the requirement is very urgent
Thanks and Regards,
Emmy

You should create a stub EXE which calls the codec MSI, then your packaged MSI. It can then call the .Net security-changing EXE. The two major packaging tool vendors both support EXE creation.

Is there any silent switch for "SetSecurityApp.exe"? I need to deploy it silently. I tried to capture it, but getting multiple error when convert to MSI.
