What is shadowing of components? and y patch cannot be packaged.

Pathes are already packaged but in MSP format, why would you try to repackage them?

Shawdowing of components as I know it are extra devices only seen in safe mode. Have seen issues with it in XP, booting to safe mode and removing all and then allowing Windows PNP to redectect fixed it. I haven't seen this in Windows 7 so far.
For patching it would depend on which patch you are refering to.
