Bad idea. Nested MSIs are actively discouraged these days. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa368010.aspx

If your idea is to build an install for installing all the VS MSIs, why not create a stand-alone EXE that calls out to MSIExec.EXE for each one? Or, more simply, a command file?

Hi

The stand alone EXE calling all the MSI's is wat the vendor provided me. I heard tat EXE cannot be deployed thro SMS. But the package needs to deployed in sms.

How useful would it have been, do you think, to have specified that information in your original post? :)

I don't know SMS at all but I think you're mistaken: I believe SMS can be made to start any executable.

I'm not a SysAdmin for this site/forum but, as a user, can I ask you NOT to cross-post/hijack other posts? Your query will be answered in your thread.

Ok.

Thanks,
