Capture in Windows XP or Windows 7

Hi,

We are creating packages which will be deployed for both Windows Xp and Windows 7.
For Legacy applications we have to do setup capture.
In our case which will be the best option.

1. To Capture in windows Xp or windows 7.
2. What will be the problems if capture is done in One OS and deployed in the other.

Hi PackMsi

What i would suggest is to capture it on XP then package the application. After packaging the application try to test it on both OS to know and see if all functionallity of the package would work.

First check compatibility issues for that application(is that application is for both Windows 7 & XP) and try to do as you mentioned in 2nd point(What will be the problems if capture is done in One OS and deployed in the other. )and check it on both OS ? see the result

I would tend to go with using the lowest common denominator, i.e. XP. Once your estate is fully converted, you can then retire your XP images/VMs.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
