Can a script add to the Scripting Log?

Hopefully a simple one; can a BAT file run by Scripting issue any command such as ECHO and pipe or send it somewhere such that it will appear in the scripting log?

At the moment, it shows it's started the BAT, and shows the ERRORLEVEL returned, but it cna be unclear why. If I could test for things in the BAT and echo a reason it would make things a bit easier.

Any ideas gratefully received.
