Building an msi from ism

I am fairly new to packaging and have been using adminstudio and installshield trial versions to build an msi . To begin with am converting an exe file in to irp and then to ism and as per my concept the ism file has to be again built to get msi.. But when i build the ism file i see the changes happening in the folder (..MSI_Package\Product name\Product Configuration 1\Release 1\DiskImages\DISK1) but towards the end the msi along with the tmp files and cab files are deleted leaving behind the setup file(setup launcher unicode). Is there any setting to retain the msi and cab files without getting deleted. Am a beginner in packaging and would appreciate if someone could help me out.. Thanks

Open the project in InstallShield and go through the release wizard. About 1/2 way through, there is an option to create a setup.exe. You can unselect that and you will be left wih an MSI only.
