boot splash settings

which is recommended setting?  

Should this be enabled ?

  • so this tick should be enabled for both the Splash options?, we dont have requirement to show any message during the boot. i dont want to show splash message during booting, should i tick it or leave it as it is(unticked) - rahimpal 6 years ago

i would say No if you want your end users to be oblivious of KACE's presence. Otherwise they will get a KACE related pop up every time they boot their machines, however if you have specific information that you want to communicate every boot up then it could be used as a useful tool.

Comments:
  • no Hobbsy, it is the other way.
    This is the "old" disablebootupsplash=1 in the amp.conf.
    This means: if you enable it, the KACE popup in the bootup and login will _NOT_ be shown.
    If you don't enable it, it will be shown. - Nico_K 6 years ago
    • You are quite correct sir, I remember be annoyed by a pop up when we upgraded, and our settings are set thus, we have enabled the disablement ;o) but my initial comments re users still stands - Hobbsy 6 years ago
