Boot Actions

I set a boot action on a computer to boot to the Deployment and Recovery Console and made sure that PXE was enabled in the BIOS, but it is still booting into local hard drive. I had the number of boots at 1, and then tried 0 as well, but it is still coming up to Windows. Are there any other changes I need to make?

WGM_Jeff,

Have you successfully booted any machines to the k2000 with PXE?

If so, and assuming there are no hardware or network configuration issues, maybe you could just make the NIC the first boot device in the BIOS. It needs to hit PXE before it hits the local drive.

WGM_Jeff,

Sorry but i have to ask.

Did you set PXE as the FIRST device in the boot order?

Actually, no I hadn't. I was hoping to be able to do this with boot actions so the end users didn't see the boot menu when they first brought the machine up. Instead, I just changed the boot menu timeout to a very short time and password protected it. Thanks!
