We are currently in the process of getting our heads round System Centre Config Manager 2007 running on a Server 2008 environment. We are in the process of determining what packages/applications we want to install on the new network. (We are currently running a server 2003 RM (Research Machines) environment which we are gladly getting rid of in the summer!)

I would like to deploy VLC Media player to all machines on the network. However, I would like to customise the install so that we can apply the same settings (file associations) and skin to all installs. Does anyone have a tried and tested "best" solution for this please?

Many thanks in advance for any help/advice given.

Personally, as this is a legacy installer i.e. not MSI, I'd capture it to an MSI but there are notes on both v0.x and v1.x in the 'Package KB' detailing how to customise the vendor install.
