Hello all,
I am packaging the dreaded AutoCAD LT 2006 at the moment and it just seems to be problem after problem with it.
I have the application packaged to the point where I can install it manually using the following command line,
msiexec /i AutodeskAutoCADLT2006.msi transforms=AutodeskAutoCADLT2006.msi /qr.
When I install it locally by an admin it works fine without error, however, when i install the application via SMS and usnig the exact same command line I get an error when running it for the first time as a locked down user.
The error message states -
"A licence system error has occurred. You must uninstall and reinstall this product to initialize the license management system. If this problem continues, contact your system administrator or Authorized product dealer. Licence status [1.1.98]"
This error only occurs for a user and when run as admin it works fine.
Has anyone ever come across a problem like this where it installs and works fine when done manually but when SMS is used problems start to pop up!
Any ideas?

Thanks for the replies. I deployed this application via "Dump & Run" method. Used the silent switches to install the application after the source files were dumped to the target system and this works fine.
As said by Xythex you should look for any registry that's having insufficient rights meanwhile you could also try this solution, this worked for me when I was deploying Auto cad 2004:
Eexamine the \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\<productname>\<productversion>\ADLM\<productname>Adlm.err file and see the following message:
AdlmError=1 [Component internal / programming error]
VendorID=1 [SAFECAST]
VendorError=20 [The RTS running or installed is too old for this application]
Sol: This error occurs when another application that uses an earlier version of SafeCast is installed on the computer. The problem occurs due to the location of a SafeCast-specific DLL file.
To resolve the issue:
Search the \Windows folder for the CdaC14BA.dll file.
If the file is present, uninstall the AutoCAD 2004 based product.
Delete the CdaC14BA.dll file from the Windows directory.
Reinstall the AutoCAD 2004 based product.
The error occurs only if the CdaC14BA.dll file is present during the installation of the AutoCAD 2004 based product. If the DLL file is recreated by the third-party application after installation the error will not occur.
Try our solutions revert back in case you require any further information regarding the same.
If it works as an admin but not as a restricted user you probably have a rights problem. Run Filemon and Regmon from sysinternals as the restricted user and look for access denied errors.
I am having the same issue with this application. I am using the command line however to deliver the application and I get the same error message unless I manually run the install.
Only thing different is that I am set as an admin account and this only occurs when I am installing silently. Any suggestions?
