AutoCAD 2005 sequencing issue

I just sequenced AutoCAD 2005 using the following instructions posted by jkakritz: http://www.softgridguru.com/viewtopic.php?p=3698&highlight=#3698

* .NET Framework 2.0 needs to be installed on the destination machine
* Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86) needs to be installed on the destination machine.
* In the Sequencer, remove the CSIDL_PROFILE\Local Settings entry in the Tools->Options, Exclusions tab prior to beginning the Sequence. This will allow any configuration files that are written to this location during the installation phase to be recorded by the Sequencer.

Everything appears to work, except...

I noticed a lot of my icons off the Start -> Programs list have turned into an 'unknown state' icon - they are no longer associated with the program they represent (ie. IE, Adobe Reader 8, Windows Messager, etc.) Hmmm...

Anyone have an idea what I did wrong? As soon as I unload this app, all the icon return to normal (the association is corrected).

After asking the right questions to my MS SG tech rep, he asked the right questions & I figured out where the problem was.

I opened the AutoCAD package for upgrade & deleted a suspect shortcut out of the All Users Startup menu - no change. I went back to the original package & the icon association changed to a known icon for AutoCAD (2 of the 20 shortcuts use this same icon). I unchecked the 'enable' box for each of these OSDs & figured out which one was causing the issue - it's the AcSignOpt Module (whatever that's supposed to be for). I looked at the Shortcuts tab for the properties of this OSD file & found that it isn't a shortcut to anything (the advance button area is blank). Now everything appears to be working as designed.

Now that it works & I don't know how to use it, I'm setting up end-user testing.

I just found out that there's a service pack 1 released for this product so I'm trying to get the software owner to get a copy for me (FTP site needs username / password).

That is one wierd issue but I'm glad you posted this.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
