I am adding asset types to the location field so that when we add new machines to the asset section, we should be able to choose Las Vegas, Richland, Augusta, etc.
I actually had this set up at one point, then deleted all the cities so that I could re-add them.
But after deleting them from the asset group they do not show up when adding a new machien now. The drop down is just blank.

This asset type is set up exactly like another asset type I am using and it works fine.

When I go to choose the location nothing shows up in the drop down.

Should your values not be in the "select values" column?

I don't think so, the department asset type is set up the same way and it works fine. I will try it though.

Jeffstandley,

Asset definition is where you setup the fields for the assets, not the individual Assets themselves.

You should be adding the individual assets under the asset tab.

Assets -> Choose action -> add new location.

That way when you link you'll see them.

Yes agreeing with dchristian here.... you should delete all the additional fields you have created and simply create 7 assets of type location. That is create richland, gaithersburg, augusta, las vegas, fairfax, austin, acton as assets on the assets->assets->choose action->add new -> location menu
