Asset Department Import

We're attempting to set the asset department column in KACE to equal the description field within Active Directory.  The concept seems very simple, but we continue to come up short when configuring.  Let us know if you have any suggestions we should try.  Thanks

A few ideas:

1) Create an LDAP label to assign the Department name to the computers.  See if these blogs might help:

Once the LDAP labels are applied, you could:

2a) Write a report to dump the computer names and department labels to CSV and then import the CSV via the Asset Import screen.

or

2b) Write a ticket rule to copy the department name into the associated asset field.  First steps will be determining the field names and getting things in a select query.

Hope that helps get you going in the right direction!
